Pune Warriors may sign Michael Clarke: Ganguly
New Delhi, Mar 15: Australia skipper Michael Clarke,
who is always committed to playing for his country over the cash-rich
Indian Premier League, But according to reports he may feature in the
upcoming IPL 5 season playing for the Sahara Pune Warriors after the
West Indies series.
Pune Warriors coach and captain Sourav Ganguly has told a leading national daily that Clarke was in talks with the franchise.
"We're on the verge of signing Clarke, Nothing has been finalised yet. Michael Clarke will obviously be in the West Indies, so we have to sit with him, However, he will be available from May, Ganguly told an Indian newspaper.
A one-month contract is being offered to Clarke that would see him joining the team on May 1.
With the IPL 5 season starting on April 4, Clarke will lead his team against the Windies and would only be available to play in the Warriors' final eight matches of the season.
